“The wise ones”,
an album of 11 tracks released in February 2023
She continues her musical wanderings within Occitan poetry, while presenting her own texts with a detour through Notre Dame des Landes, Northern Italy or even South America. These songs in French, Occitan, Italian and Spanish are coloured by various influences that have left their mark on the singer-songwriter: from them a vast territory emerges, mapping a poetic and utopian ZAD (an area occupied by environmental activists), incorporating folk music, contemporary music and oral traditions from southern Europe – from the Balkans to Tunisia to Provence. The measured breath of her deep singing flows like clear water from a spring. Giving free rein to inspiration and imagination, Cylsée’s “The Wise Ones” will take you beyond borders and time!

“The message bearing shadow”,
an album of 9 tracks released in summer 2016
Occitan title of Cylsée’s first album, singer-songwriter with warm and crystalline voice. Fascinated by the Occitan poetry of the great Languedoc poet Max Rouquette, she put five of her texts in music, as well as her own creations in French and English, in addition to a text in Spanish and one in Neapolitan dialect. A dreamlike universe unfolds with the magic of a summer night, messenger shadows returning from the depths of souls, a mysterious walker in exile, a Venice with a black velvet smile, a tree with a thousand fingers caressing the shadow of a former love. Without forgetting the facetious and somewhat invading Mathurin, nor this Symphony as a creative impetus triumphant of chaos... Bouzouki, percussion, viola violin, guitar, charango, flutes and many other instruments accompany these beautiful melodies with subtle arrangements. A guaranteed musical takeoff!

About
Cylsée accompanies herself mainly by guitar and viola, performs solo, duo or group with variable geometry, depending on the contexts, surrounded by excellent musicians from different horizons: Goran Juresic, accomplished bouzoukiste and multi-talented instrumentalist, percussionist Rachid Belgacem, polyflutist Miquèu Montanaro, bassist and backing vocalist Marine Danet...

“The first thing that hits you is the vast universe unveiled by her voice. The variation of deep and high notes, the way in which she interlaces emotions and feelings, momentum building through lively refrains... Cylsée carries us away. She stimulates our imagination and transports us all to a land of poetry, spirituality, just causes, initiation stories, traditional and contemporary tales.”
François-Marie Pons, writer & director
“Los Savis is a whole melodic universe with subtle arrangements in which Cylsée’s vibrant and captivating voice unfolds wonderfully between bouzouki, percussion, viola, bass, guitar, flutes... Her deep singing flows like a clear and original spring.”
Paris Music Library “Coup de cœur” summer 2023
“Halfway between current and traditional music, between magic and nostalgia, “The wise ones” by Cylsée will take you on a journey!”
France Bleu, February 2023
“A special mention for the French songs, composed by Cylsée, in which the rhythm is electric and the lyrics mischievous.”
Aquò d'Aqui, January 2023
“Cylsée has a strong bond with the land, like a farmer. She is linked to nature from which she draws its images, dreams, even mystery. She communes with it, gives it her heart.”
L’Éveil Normand, avril 2019
Continuer la lecture de « Presse »“Soundscapes of a very current middle age. L’ombra messagièra is credit to Cylsée’s medievalist training, the testimonies of refugees she hears and the landscapes inspired by the verses of Max Rouquette. A real success.”
